AutoCAD Block Specific Attribute Mapping
This feature provides the ability to specify a specific AutoCAD block name when mapping AutoCAD attributes to Windchill attributes. This allows for the case where an AutoCAD file contains more than one ‘block’ with attributes of the same name.

Benefits and Description
This feature introduces the ability to specify block name as a prefix to the attribute name when configuring Attribute Mapping through the Type and Attribute Manager.
It is possible for a single AutoCAD drawing to contain several blocks. Each block can be allocated a set of attributes. It is possible for the name of the attributes to be the same in several blocks. In these cases, when mapping attributes between the AutoCAD and Windchill environment, it is necessary to include the block name as well as the attribute in order for the Windchill Workgroup Manager to know which attribute should be mapped to Windchill.
An AutoCAD drawing contains 2 blocks called ‘TitleBlock’ and ‘Notes’ where both blocks contain an attribute called ‘Name’. An attribute mapping is set up in Windchill to map Windchill ‘Name’ to AutoCAD ‘Name’. The Windchill Workgroup Manager needs to be told which block name it should take the ‘Name’ attribute from.
