Benefits and Description
The following enhancements have been made in PTC Windchill 10.1 M050:
- A new preference enables you to determine whether objects that have been moved in the source PLM system should be automatically moved in the target PLM system when they are imported. For more information, see the “Setting Import Preferences" topic in the PTC Windchill Help Center.
- By default, Windchill PLM Connector imports and exports the metadata attributes of CAD documents, such as file name, life cycle state, and version information. Beginning with this release, you can configure Windchill PLM Connector to also import and export the following Windchill attributes: name, number, organization ID, and attributes on the CAD document master. For more information, see the “Customizing the Import and Export of Additional Attributes" topic in the PTC Windchill Help Center. Tip: Enter the topic name in the PTC Windchill Help Center search field to easily navigate to the topic.
- If you are exporting a package but do not have access to all of the CAD objects and their dependents, it is now possible to export an incomplete package. The incomplete package contains the global ID for the CAD objects for which you do not have permission. By default, this capability is not enabled. To enable the capability to export and import these types of packages, you must modify the export and import preferences. For more information, see the “Setting Export Preferences” and “Setting Import Preferences" topics in the PTC Windchill Help Center. Tip: Enter the topic name in the PTC Windchill Help Center search field to easily navigate to the topic.
- Enhanced security is available when entering credentials for a Windchill PLM Connector command. Beginning with this release, you can enter the user name only, and the system will prompt you for the corresponding password. Password characters are masked for security purposes. Otherwise, you can include the password as an argument for the command as in previous releases.
