Benefits and Description
As an alternative to the Insert Existing Information Element actions, users can now conveniently use copy and paste actions to insert existing objects into information structures and publication structures. You can copy objects from any context and then paste them into information structures and publication structures.
- PTC Windchill Service Information Manager objects can be copied to the PTC Windchill clipboard from any context (folders, search, another product context, and so on.) Objects that can be copied include information structures, publication structures, information groups, publication sections, parts lists, and other information elements.
- The Paste action is now available from the Actions toolbar and the right-click menu when editing service structures. The Paste action is similar to the Insert Existing actions, where each object in the PTC Windchill clipboard must comply with the relationship constraints allowed by the structure at the insertion point. Unsupported insertions are reported to the user.
