Benefits and Description
Autodesk Inventor Frame Generator is a standard Inventor module used to create metal frame assemblies. This module is commonly used in oil, gas, and plant design industries. Frame Generator uses Content Center libraries to access standard extrusion profiles (for example, tubing and I-beams), and automatically generates parts for the Frame. However, the file names generated by Inventor are not unique, which causes uniqueness issues when those parts are stored in Windchill.
With PTC Windchill 10.2 support for Autodesk Inventor Frame Generator, the PTC Windchill Workgroup Manager generates unique file names for the auto-generated parts. This allows them to be stored in Windchill without encountering issues with non-unique file names.
