Benefits and Description
Windchill Workgroup Manager now supports the unique model identifications (called Model IDs or SysIDs) that are generated and used by Creo Elements/Direct Modeling to control model identities and versions. The SysID recognition and conflict resolution capabilities allow users to reconcile redundant model data from files to unique models in Windchill.
Windchill Workgroup Manager:
- Stores SysIDs as Windchill attributes.
- Performs SysID checks when models are saved to Windchill.
- Provides conflict resolution options when there are conflicting SysIDs.
- Adjusts the filename (CAD name) of a model to match the file in Windchill if a model with the same SysID already exists. A user can make the model in session the newer version or replace it with the model in Windchill.
These enhancements expand the range of supported use cases to support customers with legacy Creo Elements/Direct Modeling files on disk or with workflows that require intermediate work with intermediate files on disk; for example, for supplier collaboration.
These enhancements are not compatible with earlier versions of Windchill and Creo Elements/Direct Modeling. Earlier versions are marked “for evaluation only” in compatibility matrices, and should not be used in production.
