Benefits and Description

When a 3D dimension is preselected, the system offers a context specific default operation. The user can either start working immediately by dragging the active handle to change the dimension with the default modification method or typing in the dimension value – or just as easily – switch to another operation with one click in the command mini toolbar right next to the dimension. Depending where you pick on a distance or angular dimension (arrow or center) either the face connected to the arrow is modified or both sides are changed symmetrically.  At any time you can add additional elements to be affected by the change. If a 3D dimension is referencing two different parts, the default operation is to reposition one of the parts.

Creo Elements/Direct 17.0 provides a very intuitive and easy way to drive model changes, if 3D dimensions are available. This new interaction method drastically reduces mouse travel and number of clicks to perform modifications.
