For large designs, the import/export process can take some time, so the implementation allows the CADDS 5 user to initiate these design-sharing transactions while continuing to use CADDS, the status of the import/export process being reported to the user through the CADDS interface. The imported designs remain associative to the original model such that any model changes made in the originating system can be reflected in the receiving system. This means that when a change is made to the design and the model re-imported (updated) any downstream design or manufacturing information, such as toolpaths, will remain associative and update accordingly.
This package is available as a single user (submit a single transaction -a single part or a whole assembly can be a single transaction) or a multi-user multi-transaction, 6-pack license. The single user is specifically for small CADDS 5 customers (5-10 seats) that either also use Pro/ENGINEER or work with customers/suppliers that use Pro/ENGINEER. The multi-pack is intended for larger CADDS 5 customers who are coexisting with, or migrating to Pro/ENGINEER, and have a higher demand to process large numbers of parts and assemblies.
